Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS)
A move for easing the system application of food licenses
The Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS) is the new licensing and compliance portal of FSSAI and has been launched pan India on 1st November 2020. FoSCoS has replaced outdated Food Licensing and Registration Systems (FLRS).
With the launch of FoSCoS,
- The filing of an application for FSSAI registration and license Food License Registration can be made only Online and payment for the same can be made only through the Pan-India Online payment gateway. The option of payment through Demand Draft and Cash discontinued wef 17th August 2020 and Treasury challan has been discontinued wef 1st January 2021.
- The manufacturer applicants are not required to write the name of the standardised food products but can choose the correct food category and select the standardized food products from the available list of products in that food category.
- The format of FSSAI Food License Registration has been made common across India. The Licenses and Registrations have been converted to PDF form and are directly dispatched online to the email IDs of Food Business Operators (FBO). Food License Registration
- FBOs can make a request Online for reactivation of their rejected applications and Designated Officers or Commissioners of Food safety may consider the online request and reinstate the rejected application for License and Registration.
